Baba's Halal Annapolis: Reviews & Ratings
Had their gyro three times now. The first two times were great. The meat was dry out today. Hope i just got the bad part of the meat this time. The cajun fries were good. $10.
I finally decided to give this place a try inside the food court at Annapolis mall. I ordered a falafel rice salad bowl. It was good. My only complaint would be that they overcooked the falafels, they were tooooo crunchy for comfort. The inside was alright but the outer part was so crunchy I was nervous to share with my toddler. Though you can't see all of the ingredients on the line due to them being covered, I like that they are kept covered and fresh.
We went there for the first time and we didn’t expect that good food! They have a sample to try first and we liked lamb. Chicken had red marinade, not bad but lamb was better for us. It was 11 dollars and was a big platter. Tzatziki sauce was awesome and their hot sauce… We liked hot a lot but this is really really hot sauce. If you are trying for the first time, just put so little first. Before I forget, you don’t expect high quality for french fries but it was fresh and crispy. Suggestion : If they put sour cream and shredded cheese on their menu, that would be awesome for them.
I got their cheese sandwich. It comes with a beef patty. The patty could have been a little bigger as per the price. Fries were ok but got soggy soon. This costed around 10 dollars. But the sandwich was not that juicy. It felt dry to me. I tried their chicken over rice the other day. It was good.
Outstanding service and the food was great! We had smash burgers and chicken on rice. Both were seasoned and cooked well.

Baba's Halal Annapolis stands as a flavorful beacon within the Annapolis Mall food court. This spot brings a mix of Middle Eastern staples and bold, seasoned choices that invite both first-timers and regulars to explore its offerings. Located at 1054 Annapolis Mall Rd, it presents a convenient stop for a quick, satisfying meal.
The standout dishes here include their lamb platters and gyro sandwiches. The lamb, often praised by patrons, offers rich, tender meat paired beautifully with a creamy tzatziki sauce that balances the spices perfectly. The gyro, a classic staple, has been met with mixed experiences; while some find the meat deliciously well-seasoned, others note occasional dryness. This variability suggests the kitchen’s effort to maintain high standards, even if consistency sometimes varies.
Their chicken dishes, notably chicken over rice, receive positive nods for being well-seasoned and nicely cooked, reflecting an understanding of how to treat poultry without losing moisture or flavor. The falafel, though fresh and nestled in a crisp shell, can verge on overcooked, hinting at opportunities for refinement.
With sides like cajun fries adding a spicy crunch and French fries that impress with their crispness despite occasional sogginess, the menu is well-rounded. The inclusion of a sample tasting option speaks to their confidence in the quality and flavor of their offerings, inviting customers to find their favorites.
Customers have also expressed a desire for additions such as sour cream and shredded cheese to complement the current menu. This signals a potential path for Baba's Halal Annapolis to deepen its appeal and broaden taste profiles.
In summary, Baba’s Halal Annapolis brings vibrant, halal Middle Eastern cuisine with fresh ingredients and bold sauces that excite the palate. While some dishes show room for improved consistency, the attentive service and flavorful combinations make it a worthy stop for those craving hearty, spiced dishes in a welcoming mall setting.
